Hi I've been to every shawarma place in ottawa. There are only 3 places i normally go one is La Sheesh on Clyde, Garlic Corner in the market(when i'm drunk) and sometimes Shawarma Palace on Carling near but by far (in Ottawa) Sahara Dunes has the freshest best tasting shawarma in Ottawa. The difference i find between them is actual quality. Most places in ottawa have friendly staff but food is mediocre and a lot of the food they serve are store bought (garlic sauce, hommus, taboulie)and outside of that the food they have in their display window has been sitting there for serveral days unless its a weekend(then their food sales are higher. sahara dunes i know at least makes their own food. and as far as i know they cater to DND so as far as i know have constant bussiness. Bad things about it though are location. It isn't near centre town it doesnt advertise at times are under staffed. I have been in during dead hours between 2 and 4pm and service is reasonably fast but because there are only 2 staff members the owner and his brother during peak hours 4 and 6pm they are overwhelmed.

currently under the new managment & has a fresh new look including a new menu. The food was very fresh and all the spices put together was a amazing combination.
Sahara Dunes has the BEST shawarma I have ever tasted in my life it was like falling into heaven believe me! You want AMAZING Shawarma go there. They're staff is friendly theyre food is Great! Just Amazing

Very friendly staff, but very forgetable shawarma, potatoes and garlic sauce. Go elsewhere if you want a very good shawarma. If you're just looking to fill up, it'll do.
