Oakhurst opened in 1995 as a center for environmental education. The Oakhurst house is the former home of George A. and Frances W. Ball, and their daughter, Elisabeth. George was one of the five Ball brothers who were local pioneers in the glass manufacturing industry. Some features: Discovery Cabin, Children’s Garden and Nature Area.
Hours: 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays,
9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays and
11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sundays. Admission charged.
